Full-ride Freedom Scholarships.
Exclusively for American veterans.

Hillsdale College continues its 170 years of steadfast support for our military by offering veterans something better.

Academic excellence.
Institutional independence.

Since 1844, Hillsdale College has pursued a classical approach to education, drawing from our heritage in the Judeo-Christian faith and Greco-Roman culture. We do this without accepting any taxpayer funding - even indirectly in the form of student grants and loans. Free of government subsidies, free of compromise. The result: Hillsdale is consistently ranked among the nation's most highly regarded liberal arts institutions.

Freedom to pursue truth.
Freedom to defend liberty.

We believe your service to our country has earned you the opportunity to receive the best classical liberal arts education in the land. And we're not alone. Our scholarships are funded by private citizens who share your deeply held commitment to this country. We don't want financial concerns to get in the way of your success.

The Hillsdale experience
as told by Hillsdale veterans.

We know our conservative culture, pursuit of truth, defense of liberty, honor code, and commitment to the classical liberal arts are a good fit for many veterans. After all, veterans are already here, and they are thriving. Take a few moments and listen to a few of their inspiring firsthand accounts.

  • Our low student-to-faculty ratio is one
    of Hillsdale's greatest strengths.

In fact, there are only 10 students for every faculty member at Hillsdale. Students here have the opportunity to develop close, personal relationships with their professors. And that means you’ll receive more effective individual instruction and feedback. Professors can provide you with professional mentoring and meaningful letters of recommendation when you are applying to graduate school or seeking employment.

  • Live and learn the way you served - with honor.

Every entering freshman signs the Hillsdale College Honor Code. Then they live by it. Here it is in its entirety: A Hillsdale College student is honorable in conduct, honest in word and deed, dutiful in study and service and respectful of the rights of others. Through education the student rises to self-government.
